“I started working with Coach Komen soon after I finished my first half marathon race. I was an average female runner, I did it for fun and had been running off and on for years. The only training programs I had completed were the ones that I had researched on the internet and tweaked myself. I finished my half marathon averaging a 9:28 minute/mile, a personal success considering I had been averaging a 10+ minute/mile. I wanted to go to the next level without getting injured, also while being able to maintain a healthy lifestyle, diet, and social life.
My training started off great. I moved away from the DC area, so I began to do his “online” training program. Wilson was a great resource for all my questions. And I soon realized that it was not about the money with Wilson, and not only did I gain a great trainer and support system, I also had a friend.
For those of you who are skeptical about doing the training program, it’s totally worth it! I especially recommend the online program if you’re not in the DC area. It’s not your typical online program. You will be in complete contact with Wilson and he will be able to change and update your schedule accordingly. I have taken the summer off from training to get some weight lifting and recuperate from life but I will start training for my next fall race later on this summer. I will definitely be using Wilson’s training program and I recommend him to all my friends and family.

“Coach Komen is a fantastic coach and I enthusiastically recommend him to anyone, beginner or advanced, who wants a professional, personally tailored training plan. I first met Coach a few days prior to running the 2009 Marine Corps Marathon. He provided me with a number of tips and recommendations on how to best survive my first Marathon. I ran a 3:31, falling short of my goal of 3:30. Coach Komen’s recommendations really saved me from “hitting the wall” in my first marathon and I decided to hire him to design my training plan in preparation for the 2010 Shamrock Marathon at Virginia Beach in March 2010.
Coach Komen’s plan was perfect. He slowly and methodically increased my weekly mileage from 20 miles to 45 miles and I did not suffer any injuries despite doubling my mileage. Additionally he was always available via cell phone or e-mail if I had any questions about the training plan. As the training plan progressed, Coach Komen incorporated speed and hill work outs into the training plan. As my marathon date approached the taper plan he developed was perfect and I peeked on race day, running at 3:19, improving my previous marathon time by 12 minutes in 6 months.
